Polly stumbled through the gardens her head lost in a sorcery book she didn't understand. "Oh!" She said. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to intrude"

Claire jumped, eyes wide, straight out of Taye's arms. She didn't really mean to, but Polly tended to be...more than a little curious and, well judgemental wasn't the word, but who was Claire kidding? Polly had an opinion about everything! She was secretly glad they weren't kissing when she came up. She wasn't sure what Polly would think about Claire being with a boy a few years her minor. She wasn't sure why she cared so much about what Polly thought. She shouldn't, but she had for so long.
"No, it's ok." She smiled nervously, "Hi Polly. Having a good afternoon?" She secretly just wanted her to go away.

"Oh, all right" she said. This was the first time the three of them had been together since... the night.

She looked a little nervously at Taye. She knew Taye didn't trust her, and Claire didn't know if she really did or not. She really thought Polly wasn't intelligent enough to be carrying out some sort of diabolical plan on her own. "Still studying?"
Claire wasn't sure how much time she had left here, but Polly wasn't who she wanted to be spending it with...

"Look, I'm sorry for doubting the whole thing. It was just so... beyond my understanding. You guys are my friends. Please don't leave me out in the cold."

"We're not leaving you anywhere, Polly." Claire laughed at the naieve thing. "Well, not leaving just you. I am leaving..." Claire sighed. "I don't know if you were told or not. I'm moving. Glinda declared me 'good witch of the South.' So I have to look after Quadling Country. I've never even been there...but it's the land of my ancestry." Claire gave a sad glance to Taye.

"I...I did hear. Congratulations." She said. "It's all so...sudden"

"Thanks. And yes, it is..." Why was this awkward? It never used to be awkward to talk to Polly.

"What... tell me what I need to do..." Polly now saw - the only way she would ever be made a good witch was through Mombie. She wasn't good enough to become one the way Claire had.

"Oh, no one can do anything. I don't even know what I can do anymore." Claire gave a half-hearted smile. It was true. She didn't. She suddenly felt more alone than ever, and she hadn't even left yet.

"Well, if you need any help - please let me know. I've spent a good deal of time in Quaddling country - they're always using rainbow gems from our palace. I think you'll like it." Polly wasn't sure what to do. She was on Mombie's side, but she still wanted friends. She wasn't sure how much she could trust Claire - she had had a spell put on her after all...

"Oh. Well, good. I've never been. I'll be quite lonely, but Glinda willed me to..." Claire dropped her eyes. She didn't want to show her reluctance to leave, but how could she help it? Shiz had become her home. She didn't want to pick up and start over somewhere entirely foreign! "There hasn't been a protectorate of the Quadlings in many years. Do you think they'll respond well? Does the 'palace' of sorts even still exist?"

"Oh, I don't think the palace is TOO delapadated... it should be all right with a few restorations... is...is Ellie in Munchkinland all ready?"

"She didn't have much here at Shiz, so Glinda sent her on her way after the party. I think she was kind of hoping to see Ian before he returned here, too, make sure he didn't leave before she got there. But I..." she glaced to Taye, "had a few things to take care of here first."

"Oh Ellie doesn't think of Ian like that!" She said. That was one thing she knew. Ian was a friend to her, nothing more. She had heard her talking. "She's not romantically interested in him at all..." she looked from Claire to Taye.
