Glinda moved into the Throne room and situated herself on the middle “throne” which was slightly larger than the two on either side of it. She adjusted her dress, her crown, her wand and motioned for the girls to sit on either side of her. They had only moments to mentally and physically ready themselves before the masses would burst through the door.
She motioned for the guard to bring Dorothy to her, and she sat the young girl in her lap. Sure, she was a young lady, but Dorothy was still a child and might need a little help answering any sort of questions that might be thrown at her. Glinda felt safer knowing the child was there with her and not anywhere that someone could possibly kidnap her or corner her and frighten the child.

Claire followed Glinda into the Throne Room. It hadn’t been that long ago the ‘fellowship’ had gathered here to meet and discuss further plans. Of course she hadn’t known crowning her a good witch was in the cards at the time. It had been a pleasant surprise. She hoped she was up to the task of ‘greeting her public.’ Sure, Claire was pretty quick on her feet, but who knew what sort of questions they might fire at her! She sat to the left of Glinda atop a slightly smaller throne and spread her dress out so no wrinkle or crease showed. It was eerie how pristine everything looked. A sort of triumvirate: she, Glinda, and Ellie sitting atop Emerald thrones surrounded by little green cakes, cookies, and bowls of punch. “Well, I guess this is it,” she said with a little apprehension but through a smile.

Glinda nodded to Claire. This was indeed 'it.' She had faith in her girls.
Glinda repositioned the little emerald comb in the young girl’s hair and recurled a few of the locks with a fingertip. Glinda did love caring for little girls. She would have spoiled one of her own rotten had she ever been given the chance.

Ellie made her way to her throne. She felt strangely like she belonged somehow. She could see Elphaba hiding in the corner of the room, watching from the shadows. Oh what she wouldn't give to have her up here with them! But she would soon enough.
"Glinda?" Said Ellie, "what will we do now? Am I to take up the Governorship of Munchkinland? When will we tell them the truth?"

"Yes, you will go to Munchkinland and take up a 'temporary governorship' as appointed by me. It's too soon to say too much. There are already rumors of how much you look like Nessa. You have to prove to them you have a better hand for ruling before you can claim blood relation." Glinda laughed, smiling warmly at Ellie. "You're doing well, dear. Don't get ahead of yourself." She could see Elphie there too, but she slowly faded.
"The point of politics is to gain the trust of the people, and the more trust you gain, the more you can reveal. Just be careful with what and how you say. I trust you."

Ellie hoped she would do a good job. It would be hard. The munchkins were bound to be hesitant about having a new ruler. She hoped they would be open to her arrival.
"Well, lets let them in!" Ellie said...

Elphie watched the proceedings. It wasn't fair! She should be able to be there too. It had been too long.

Glinda couldn't help but feel that Elphie was being cheated all this again. It must be almost unbearable for her. Yet, at the same time, Glinda knew that it was only a matter of time now. Elphaba would be up there with them soon enough.

A flurry of Ozians poured into the room: munchkins and Winkis, Quadlings and Gillikinesse alike. Even children and Animals were there to greet their new hailed ones. The greeted and hand shook. They asked questions from their favorite colors to their position on the state of Oz. No matter how many poured through the doors the line never seemed to shorten, and as hours passed Glinda knew that they would all become quite weary sooner of later.

Ellie was rather suprised by the questions. Favorite color? Really? That's what they wanted to know about their new leaders? It seemed a little silly.

Taye had to wait for quite some time -- it felt like an eternity, there were so many Ozians there -- but at last he made it to the front of the line.
"I don't mean to waste your precious time, your Oznesses," Taye said, grinning and bowing low. "I just wanted to greet and congratulate the new Good Witches of the East and South. It warms me to see Oz in such capable hands." He was of course teasing Ellie and Claire with his formalified language... but he really was happy for them.

Ellie rushed off her throne and gave Taye a big hug. He was now a close friend, and Ellie was never one for formality. "It's so nice to see you! If I have to say my favorite color is Emerald green one more time I'm going to scream!"

Claire also sprung down on top of the two. "I'm glad you came. Thank you. You have no idea how nice it is to see a familiar face."

They all fell on the floor laughing. What a site! The Good Witches of Oz laughing and tumbling on the floor. For once, all was right.
