A Visit

[Elphaba Thropp]

"Wow. I just hope she can be trusted, and she doesn't...betray us." Elphie had a good heart but after all she had experienced she was still... well, a little distrusting of others...

[Glinda Upland]

"I don't think you have anything to worry about. I'm keeping an eye on them both, and if you had seen the way she looked at Ellie, I don't think you would be worried either. I don't think the girl's ever had a real friend in her life, even if she does seem to be rather popular..."

[Elphaba Thropp]

"Sound like anyone we know?" Elphie laughed.

"Well, anyways, how's the search for Ozma coming along?"

[Glinda Upland]

Glinda sighed. She did see a lot of herself in Claire, but she really thought that Claire was brighter and a little less power hungry than herself, especially not having the support of her parents. "Every lead I get on Ozma just comes to a dead end. Everyone makes up rumors about Ozma like they do about you: the writings on the wall, the whispers down alleys. I might as well just sit in the Emerald city gardens and put out a want add. I might get to her quicker."

[Elphaba Thropp]

"Well, what do we know about her dissapearance? It wasn't too long before the Wizard arrived was it?"

[Glinda Upland]

"They were almost simultaneous, or so i've been told. I wonder if it didn't have something to do with him. I have to beleive there is so sort of connection."

[Elphaba Thropp]

"I wouldn't be suprised. Contrary to what the Wizard said, he was always a bit power hungry. No, he didn't ask to be the Wizard of Oz, but he certainly wasn't opposed to the idea. And the only person who knew all his secrets was Morrible."

"I wonder if Mombie knows anything."

[Glinda Upland]

"I wouldn't be surprised. She was groomed by Morrible to be the next 'her.'" Glinda shook her head. "I just hope she ISN'T the next her."

[Elphaba Thropp]

"Don't you know?!" Elphaba said. She sometimes forgot what she had told Glinda, and what she hadn't. Their communication was rather limited.

"She's even worse than Morrible was. "

[Glinda Upland]

"No, I don't know much of anything anymore, I supposes..."

[Elphaba Thropp]

"Well, for one thing, she can turn people into stone. And... here... I better show you..."

Ellie pulled out her crystal ball, and showed Glinda all the information she had gathered...

Glinda was amazed. Had it really gotten this bad? She'd been so happy these last few years just running the orphanage, she'd forgotten all the cruelty in the world. "How has it gotten this bad?" Glinda sighed, looking away.

[Elphaba Thropp]

"yes, and worse. You know about Mombie's collection of heads don't you? That's one of the reasons Fiyero left the Emerald City - she oubviously had her sites on him. Morrible did her job well...

Just make sure you keep up the appearance of being non threatening...." Elphie added

[Glinda Upland]

Glinda touched her head. "No one is taking my head from me. I've worked too hard to keep it this pretty!" It had a joking tone, but she was very serious. "I think that's why she'd keeping that little Kay. She's young, but she could be pretty with a few years and a little grooming. I wish I could get my hands on her, take her to the orphanage. She'd be so much better off..."

[Elphaba Thropp]

"I agree - but I doubt she'd keep her for something like that. There are plenty of other pretty girls in Oz. Besides, I hear she has 50 already. Anyways, I think people would notice if Glinda the Good's head appeared on Mombies body. Just be careful... "
