Ian was sitting with Trism when he suddenly opened his eyes and heard the call of a frightened little girl. Ian had studied telepathy but was however unsuccessful in knowing if he could do it since he had been isolated for so many months. He then tried to respond: "Can you hear me young lady?"

Gayelette's eyes flew open. Was she going crazy or had someone responded. "Hello? Is someone there? Hello?"

Ian suddenly began to grin, but not before his heart thumping. Although he was evil, it took a second for the evil plans and thoughts to sink in. "My name is Ian, Ian Tibbit, are you alright? Tell me what is wrong, I seem to be the only one who can hear you."
He began to think of the words he had just spoken. WAS he the only one who could hear her? Or were there others responding?
He quickly added "It is best that we keep names confidential, especially in your current location and state of being, lets not converse with others of our own conversations."

"I couldn't if I wanted to!" she replied, naively. "You're the only one who seems to be able to hear me at all, and I can't see or hear anyone else around me...it's so dark here." She sighed, looking up at the ceiling as if he were a voice from Heaven. "Ian, you said? It's a nice name. I'm Gayelette. And yes, I'm alright...alone, hungry, thirsty, tired, lonely...but alive. I guess that counts for something..."

Holy Oz, could it really be true? Could the Universe really be so good to me? Ian thought to himself. This was perfect, Ian was looking to put more attention on who Gayelette was and how her naieve ambitions much like the remembered Polly for Mombi might be of use to him.
"How are you doing? Other than your obvious situation, ofcourse. Your tone is rich in troublesome thoughts, talk to me."

"They think I'm evil, and it's just not true. That Ozma, she's the evil one! She accused me of killing my own father! I didn't! I didn't even see him! I don't even know where he was going! He just told me that I was pushing the limits too far. Not that I didn't know that already. But they told me I'd been charged for treason against Ozma, the good witches, and an officer of Oz. I wouldn't hurt my dad. And true, I did put a spell on my mom, but it was just because she was too d**n happy all the time! Even when Dad left, she was still so happy! Why would you be happy if your husband left you?" She sounded like any bratty teenager, except with the trusting soul of a babe.

Ian laughed to himself and to Trism at the statement from the child. Ian looked at Trism in the eyes while talking to Gaylette. "Well, I personally wouldn't be too happy if my husband had left me. I guess it depends on the husband, no? Or the wife?
Ozma is the type to point fingers. Such power and such intelligence, but not enough common sense. She must have just put two and two together, you cast a rather.. humorous spell on your mother, your dad goes missing, you did it! I'm sure there is enough reasoning in there somewhere for her to use her big decision-making-stick. "

"I think it was the others, too. Elphaba Thropp...Ellie Baum...ugh! They make me sick. Pretending like they're the ones doing good. They wouldn't know how to do anything good if it slapped them in the face! They hate me. Still I didn't do anything to them! And I certainly wouldn't do anything to Glinda. Her opinion of me was going to shape my life, get me into magic school, teach me how to use the power I was born with. I mean, I had to have been born with more than my mother, I aged my brother and I from two to fifteen!" She sounded exasperated but reawakened, as if talking about her life suddenly made it more real to her. She wasn't alone. Someone cared.
"If only I could get out of here! I'd set it straight! People would see I wasn't really the bad one at all. It was Elphaba and Ellie who manipulated Glinda and my mother and Ozma. I've never killed anyone or anything. All I wanted was to learn to use my powers and maybe get a good following behind me...you know, popular..."

"Ah my dear, there is the striking and defining word of your character. Popular. People do strange things to adopt that adjective next to their name when people speak of it. Much like things Glinda did back in the days of the reign of the Wizard. Popularity, a positive stigma of society. It however, completely imaginative, still holds power over ones right mind, the power to change the way they think and they way that they act; to feel superior. That isn't what you want, is it? You don't want anyone to think that you are superior through WHO you know, rather than physically being superior, do you?"
Ian felt like he now knew this was another Polly, the way Mombi had carried her around with a leash, this vision seemed too familiar.

"Of course I do! I could never have physical power over another human being. I'm just a girl." she laughed at herself. "I wanted to be like my mother, like Glinda. It should have been Kay and I...standing side by side, the pictures of popularity and priviledge, two daughters of the two great women of Oz...but I think Ellie was jealous of me. I always thought she was too close to my mom...took her away from my dad...never really liked boys...I always suspected there was more to her love for my mother than just friendship. And I was another woman in her life...even if I was her daughter...she had to get me out of the way. So she did."

Ian stopped in his tracks. "That would make sense..The way she never loved me back.. " he thought to himself, then looked over tenderly at Trism.
"Well, unsure of the initial drive behind her decisions to be the only woman of attention, I think that as your mother, that is something Claire should have cleared with Ellie, wouldn't you say?" he said to Gayelette, smirking. This would help flip Gayelette's thoughts on her own mother.

"I never even really thought of it that way. She was under a lot of pressure with school, and being the good witch, my brother and I; and dad. But she should have made that clear. She should have seen it too! She should have known Ellie was using her! It's the same way that Elphaba tries to use Glinda, but Glinda's smarter. Mom should have fought for me! I'm her own flesh and blood!" Gayelette was getting upset, exasperated. And then for Ozma to turn my father against me! Why would they all do that? Why didn't someone stand up and realize? And when Elphaba put that potion...she MADE me say those things! She manipulated me to look evil! Why would they do that? If they weren't evil themselves?"

"Wickedness must be punished my dear, that is simple. However, WHAT wickedness must be punished? I don't think it was yours, for what they call Wicked came out of a truth serum, and what you call Wicked was a physical action. I feel that there is some justice to be ordered. I'm going to tell you a secret, would you like that? I figure some personal bonding is in order, look, just like at Shiz, all about secrets."

"You're very right. If I ever get out of here, I'm not going back to that place. I'm not playing by those rules! I refuse! They all treated me unfairly! They all assumed that I was the wicked one. But I'm not. I've done nothing really wrong. I just didn't understand my own power. I just wanted to be like my mother! But now I don't! I don't want to be like anyone but myself! I'll set them all straight! I'll do what they never could, find the true culprits, not be tricked by their lies!"

"And where would you go my dear? Also, I once had a thing for Ellie, she never responded to me. I spent months looking for her when she disappeared, risked my life.. and no one was grateful. I too have been victimized by this group of people." Ian had her right where he wanted.
