"I am trying to reassure my dear friend that you are worth her giving a shot," Claire growled. "It won't kill her. Will it, Polly?"

"Well," grimaced Polly, "Could you at least try to look a little more presentable when you sit at our table? No offense my dear, but it's always important to present oneself in the best light possible." Oddly, coming from Polly, the statement didn't sound mean so much as arrogant and ignorant.

Claire smiled. She'd come around. And so would Ellie. Maybe if they weren't both so stubborn they'd even get along.

Ellie looked down, embarrased. Her glass of tea in front of her began trembling and burst, breaking all over the table. Ellie looked up, terrified.

"See? Talented! You can't do that, Polly!" Claire covered, grabbing a hand full of napkins and trying to mop up the wet and glass.

Ellie grabbed Claire's hand under the table, here eyes terrified, and filling with tears. Everyone was staring.

She sighed. Ellie had made a bit of a scene, but oh well. People would get used to her soon, and hopefully she would get used to people so she would quit bursting things. "No reason for alarm! Just a spell-work project!" she called, waving people's heads to turn back around to their own plates.

"Claire!' Ellie whispered under her breath "I'm...I'm dangerous! I shouldn't be here. I might hurt someone next time."

"You're not dangerous...you're harmless," she laughed. "You're just a scaredy-cat who is a little socially awkward and happens to have magical powers..." she paused, looking up as if thinking, "I guess that makes you sound dangerous, huh? But I have hard time believing no matter how nervous you got that you're going to send those shards flying through someone.."

Polly looked up in alarm. "Actually, DEAR Claire, there is always the possiblity of magic turning dangerous. Or have you forgotten your history lessons about the WIcked Witches of the West and East. They almost destroyed the Rainbow Kingdom."

Claire bit her tongue. "No DEAR I haven't forgotten. But I also do remember there are two sides to every story."

"Have you learned NOTHING from your creative history lessons? Sometimes Wicked is just wicked..."

"She's narrow minded, and I won't stand for her pig-headedness ruining you before you get a start. We're leaving."
