Allegience Himself, of course. He is also working with Mombi.
Appearance: Roquat looks like most Nomes in that he is a little fat man clothed in gray-brown garments that are the exact color of rocks. His bushy hair and flowing beard are also colored like the rocks, and so is his face. Despite being King he wears no crown of any sort, and his only ornament is a broad, jewel-studded belt that encircles his fat little body, as well as the Ruby Slippers. His features are kindly and good humored in most cases.

Background History: The Nome King has ruled the Nome Kingdom almost as long as Oz has existed. He is a rock sprite like all other Nomes, and has simply always been their king. He is a relatively fair ruler to the Nomes, though he has had some conflict with the people of countries like Ev and Oz. When the Wizard ruled Oz, he had no qualms with sending men to steal Emeralds, Gold, and other precious stones from the Nome Kingdom, for which the Nome King holds a deep grudge. He is the original owner of the Magic Belt, and the current owner of the Ruby Slippers. He is working with Mombi to take claim of the throne of the Emerald City in order to regain what he sees as rightfully his.
Personality Traits/Flaws: He is generally good-natured and friendly, with a personality much like a kindly old grandfather. However, this cheerful exterior masks a crueler interior. While he pretends to be honest and fair, he is not above doing whatever he can to get what he wants. He fancies himself a big Grandfather to Oz, but is not above using merceless methods to give Oz the "love and care" they deserve. His external kindness makes him all the more deadly; it was once said that "his laugh is worse than another man's frown". When his plans are foiled, his true nature shows through, and he can be quite tempermental and cruel.
Intrests/Hobbies: He enjoys things like eating rocks, sitting in his throne room, and ordering people around; he takes a good deal of interest in things like ornaments and other pretty things.
Likes: Things that are pretty, precious jewels, being in power, tricking people
Dislikes Being tricked, eggs, being undermined by people of Oz, having things stolen from him
Greatest Fear: Eggs; they are deadly to the Nome people, but this is a heavily guarded secret.

Roquat sat on his throne, facing the large crystal ball he used to keep in contact with Mombi. He smiled, eyes twinkling. Things were all going according to plan. Mombi was working on weakening the defences of Shiz and the Emerald City above ground... meanwhile, thousands of Nomes were busy digging towards the surface of Oz. He would reclaim the Emerald City if it was the last thing he did. After all, it practically belonged to him; it was made entirely from stones stolen from the Nome Kingdom. With the Ruby Slippers and his Magic Belt at his command, no one could stand in his way.
