Boq sat in his study grading papers. He was overwhelmed by everything that had happened recently. Elphaba was back, well that just figured. And once again he was out in the cold. No one remembered poor old Boq. Or the Tin Man now. He hadn't even had the heart to go see Dorothy. He was beginning to learn that the Wizard's gift might not have been all he thought.

In the wake of everything it had forced Glinda to still work part time. She was only working a few days a week, spending a few days a week with Robert...he needed her now; and in truth, she needed him too. She'd been asked not only to check on the status of things at Glinda Tower, but all over Shiz. It figured. She'd dodged speaking to Boq for years now, but she'd faced up to her mistakes. She'd poured her heart out to Elphie. She's screamed and cried and hurt. She thought maybe...maybe now, she could do it. Being on official buisness, she had to dress for the occasion. She'd chosen something rather simple from her collection , just a light pink dress, flowing tool skirt. She had to play the part at these events. You never knew who you might run into. Reluctantly, but knowing both for her political duties and her own peace of mind, she raised a hand to knock gently at the door, hoping he was in fact in his office.

"Come in" Boq barked not looking up from his papers.

"Boq..." Glinda's voice was a little shaky. "..it's Glinda." Her head peeked around the door, dress spilling inside. There she stood, in all her glory, the picture of everything he'd once loved, only a little older now, a little more womanly, no longer the carefree girl. There were worry lines in her face, her bright blue eyes had dulled. And there he was, the image she'd put out of her mind...well tried to...for so long. Another product of her young recklessness.

Boq pratically fell off his chair - he gave a deep bow "It's an honor your goodness."

She laid a hand on him, smiling slightly. "Boq, you don't have to bow. It's just...Glinda. It's good to see you."

"yes... your goodness" he shyly stood up. "how may I be of service?"

"Well...I am here on official business...to see if everything is still running smoothly after Mombi's removal, but I also wanted to check on you. I haven't seen you in a while..." she smiled warmly at him. 'He doesn't hate me. I'd hate me. Maybe it's been long enough...I'm glad he doesn't. I've missed him..."

"Thank you miss Glinda! It's been a long time. As you can see, everything's still running here" he tried to gather up the papers.

"I had no doubt you'd be fine. They just require me to check up on you..." her smile faded a little. "would you mind if I stayed...and talked a while?"

Boq was taken aback. Even in their school days he had never gotten to share more than two words with this princess. "Of course Miss Glinda, I...I would be honored."

She took a seat, offering him the one next to her. "How are you? How's teaching? How's...life...?" she asked, rather reluctantly. She almost wanted him to scream at her, to hate her. To be angry at her for inadvertantly being the cause of this. Did he hate Nessa that way? She'd been dead years....but did he?

"I'm fine. These students though - no respect for Ozian history. You...you never married Fiyero. I always wondered why" - what had lead him to say that?

Her smile faded. "That wasn't my choice." she swallowed down that lump in her throat. "He didn't love me. He loved Elphaba. They have a daughter..." she looked down for a moment, "her name is Ellie. She's ruling Munchkinland now..."

"Yes I heard." Boq's face. "And Fiyero's dead now. Good riddence!" Boq grew suddenly harsh and angry. "I can't believe he would treat you that way." It wasn't her choice. That hurt Boq most of all.
