In accordance with Robert's wishes, Glinda was setting up a large glass box to place Polly in right in the middle of the Emerald city. No one had been able to wake her for months now. She was in a magic induced slumber, and no one knew what it would take to break the spell. Perhaps it couldn't be broken, and she, not to differently than Ellie, would lie here beautifully for as long as there was Oz. Or she might age and die without ever waking. It was a terrible thought, but it was a real possibility.
Perhaps if she were here for all Ozians to see, then someone would come up with a possible fix to bring her back. Glida laid her limp body upon the beautiful stoney bed topped with a soft down blanket and a pillow which her strawberry blonde hair spilled across. Tiny flowers grew magically around the stoney base, sprining from Polly's beauty.
Glinda stooped once Polly was settled on it and kissed her forehead. "I love you, darling. I would have liked you to be happy and prosper. Perhaps someday you will. I will care for your father, keep him as happy as he can be without you at his side." One teardrop fell down her cheek, landing on Polly's chest and her beautiful blue gown. Then Glinda waved a hand and a berrier between her and anyone who might disturb her appeared around her. "Rest well.."

Polly had been on display for some time before Claire made it up to the Emerald City, using her key that Ozma had given her. She'd brought with her Gayelette and Tristan. She walked up to the berrier and smiled at Polly. "Polly..." she called out to her. "It's Claire. I've brought two special someone's to come and see you..." She nodded and two bassonettes appeared. She laid Tristan down in the blue one first. She held Gayelette out in front of her. "This is Gayelette, my little girl. She's a little spitfire, but she's beautiful. She has soft, dark hair, like Taye's, but even a little darker. Her eyes are bright, bright blue like mine. Her skin is fair, and she has this beautiful, beaming smile. You'd love her..."
She placed Gayelette back in her basonette and retrieved Tristan. "And this...is your godson. This is Tristan Liam Keats. I asked Ellie since I had two if it was alright with her that you be the godmother of one. So, Tristan really wants you to wake up so he can meet his godmother. He's fair, too, with fine blonde sprigs of hair, and big blue eyes just like his sissy. He's such a sweetheart, loves to be held, loves to cuddle close, and he smiles so sweetly. He's just a doll. You'd love them both."
She put both her babies back in their carriers and made the basonettes disappear once more, putting a hand on the glass. "I love you Polly. I'll be back again soon. You wake up, ok?"

Ellie used her key - and joined Claire. "Tell me again exactly what happened to her..."

Claire looked up to Ellie. "She was struck by the Nome King. I don't really know. I just know she charged and was struck and immediately fell into this coma..."

Ellie went up to Polly, examining her. She was so beautiful. She had no idea what to do. She lightly stroked Polly's hair with her hand, and felt something. She carefully plucked out a tiny shard of red glass - left no doubt by the Nome King's staff. She handed it to Claire "We have to destroy this NOW!" Ellie turned back to Polly - she didn't know if it was too late. Without thinking, she began waiving her arms and chanting, then, she returned to stroking Polly's head. "Wake up. Please wake up."

The piece of glass seemed to set aflame in Claire's hand a moment and then disappear. Her eyes were fixed on Ellie on Polly, hoping, praying this would work.

Ellie saw a flutter of Polly's eyes. "Did you see that?"

Polly's eyes suddenly shot open, and she took a deep breath. Her eyes wandered around - not sure where she was.

"Oh Polly!" Claire ran to her, throwing herself on top of her, hugging her, tears pouring down her face. "You're alive. Oh thank Oz you're alive!"

"You were asleep. I mean, enchanted asleep. You fell into it when you were hit by the Nome King's staff. Ellie woke you up..."

Claire stepped away revealing Ellie. "She's just fine..." she smiled, tears brimming in her eyes. "Oh Polly, you've missed a lot though. You've been asleep for months...but don't worry, we'll catch you up in no time. I'm just glad you're alright..."
