Allegience Serves Mombi, but secretly admires Glinda the Good.
Appearance: Kay is very small for her age. She looks very child-like, with fair skin, blue eyes, and light blonde hair. Her cute, innocent appearance leads several of the students (particularly the girls) to fawn over her when Mombie isn't around; oddly enough, Kay never seems to notice the attention. The rest of the students, however, don't even seem to notice her.

Background History: Kay does not remember anything about her parents, because she was brought to live with Mombi when she was very young. Before coming to Shiz, the two lived in a small country village in Gillikin. She never had any playmates, not only because Mombi forbid it but also because rumors of Mombi having strange powers circulated throughout most of the village people, and they took care to steer clear of the small cottage. When Kay was 8, shortly after the Wizard left the Emerald City in his fabled hot-air balloon, Mombi replaced the previous headmistress of Shiz University. Kay continues to serves at the personal servant of Mombi, and works for much of the staff as well.
Personality Traits/Flaws: Kay is relatively quiet and thoughtful. She is ordered around day and night both by the staff and many of the students, although some are a bit more soft-hearted. In general she is fairly quiet and shy, but this is largely due to always being stepped on by those around her; anyone who makes an effort to get to know her would find that she can be very friendly and easy to get along with. She has a heart of gold, and despite her generally introverted nature she can flare up intensely if she witnesses injustice. She assumes the best in people, and as a result she tends to be fairly naive and gullable. While she is very amiable, she absolutely hates Mombi.
Intrests/Hobbies She does not have much time for fun, as Mombi tries to keep a close eye on her. However, when she is able to go off on her own, she enjoys things like watching the clouds go by, or watching the many different kinds of people at Shiz, or feeding stray cats. When in Gillikin she loved spending time outdoors, but now that she is forbidden from leaving Shiz she can only watch the outside world from afar. She has actually shown a relative amount of skill at magic when Mombi isn't watching, but is severely punished if Mombi ever catches her, so she very rarely risks it.

Kay tucked a few strands of her golden hair behind her ear as she scrubbed the wooden floorboards of one of the many corridors at Shiz University. As the strands of hair fell back in front of her face, she sighed and straightened, giving her aching hands a much-needed break from their strenuous task. She absolutely hated scrubbing the floors; and yet there were so many floors to be scrubbed at Shiz, by the time one was clean another was dirty again. At the very least, it gave her some time to her self, away from Mombi... but why couldn't her time alone be spent out on some grassy field, watching Birds soar overhead? The only time she could do so was from the small window in her closet-like room, from which she would look out at the outside world. For now, she was stuck here, her hands stinging from the coarse soap. With a quiet sigh, she picked up the brush and got back to work.
A group of laughing students emerged from a nearby room and passed by, hardly glancing at the young servant girl. Kay watched them wistfully, wishing that she too could attend classes. What she wouldn't give to sit in on a seminar on History, Biology... even Linguification would be more interesting than these mindless, neverending chores. Kay glanced once more at the door the students had come from; above the door, an engraved wooden plaque read "Shiz Library". Kay had never been in the room; Mombi had strictly forbidden her from ever setting foot inside. Why, Kay didn't know; she never bothered to ask, nor would it have done any good. One thing you never did around Mombi was ask questions; you simply did as told. Still, Kay couldn't help but wonder why she couldn't go in the library of all places. Endless stores of knowledge were kept inside... what was it that Mombi didn't want her to know?
