Glinda was quite nervous about her attendance at tonight's dinner, especially since in this time no one had ever seen her with Boq. Yet here she was, decked from head to toe in her finest, being escorted by a man made of tin. Her pearl-white gloved hand, resting atop his own, her navy heels clanking in time with his metal as they walked together. What would people say? Why did she suddenly care? Was she regressing? What was this?

Ellie walked into the room looking very uncomfortable in some get up Glinda had forced her into. "Glinda I feel like a freak" she said as she tugged at her green skirt.

Glinda smiled and whispered in Ellie's ear, "if it makes you feel any better, I do a little, as well."

"You!" Exclaimed Ellie, "But you were made for things like this. You're perfect here."

"Well..." she glanced back at Boq. "I'm a little afraid of what people might say about my escort. I mean...I don't care, but for publicity's sake. I didn't really think it trough beforehand because I really wanted to go with him...but I do always have to be on my toes."

Ellie looked up at Glinda. "Maybe...this isn't the best idea...for you..."

She sighed. "But you know there's got to be a time you swallow your pride and stand up for what you believe in for a change instead of what people always tell you to believe in." she looked back at Boq a moment, "and I believe that i'm supposed to be with him.."

"Is it still so hard? Even after everything that's happened?"

"Yeah. Some days..." she sighed. She took Boq's hand and smiled. "Boq, i'd liek to introduce you to someone dear to me. This is Ellie Baum, Glinda tower's newest scholarship recipient, and a dear girl I consider like a daughter to me as she's lived under my room her whole life. Ellie, this is Professor Boq, he teaches in the Gale tower."

Ellie offered Boq her hand - she had longed to meet him. But she saw him instantly stiffen, turn, and walk away...

"Ellie, i'm sorry, he's--" she didn't know what to say for him. He would soften to her. He would. He had, before. She squeezed Ellie's hand then moved away, grasping Boq's shoulder. "Hey. What's the matter?"

"It's just that she...I KNOW she's an orphan, but she looks so uncannily like Nessarose! The way she talks, held out her hand..."

"I know..." Glinda sighed. "I knew you'd pick up on it...everyone does...and i'm sorry....trust me if it was in any way ethical to change her looks I might have tried to magic them a long time ago. It's been her misfortune her whole life resembling her so much..." she looked into his eyes and took his hands in her own. "But she's not Nessa. She's not. Nessa's gone, dead. You know it, and I know it. She can't hurt you. No one will hurt you. They'll have to kill me before I let them."

"I don't trust it Miss Glinda. You're so good, you don't know... who knows WHAT kind of magic that Witch could have put on her sister. WHo knows what kind of witchcraft she could have pulled herself! Both of them dreamed of having children, or so I've been told. And if there were a way to come back, they certainly would have found it. Never trust coincidences Ms. Glinda."

"I've raised her almost since birth. I connected with the child almost instantly. I've taken care of her like she was almost my own. No matter who or what she looks like...I love her, and she doesn't have an evil bone in her body. There's just something about her i've always loved, and I've even taken her in my own home occasionally, tried to teach her the importance of kindness and goodness. She's an amazing girl. I think if you got to know her, you'd like her too."
