He saw a look flash across Glinda's eyes.

She didn't want to, but she couldn't risk it, could she. Ok, so maybe a half-truth. "She was the daughter of a friend, whose name I have to keep confidential. She didn't want anyone finding out about the child, it would not have been good for her or Ellie. So i agreed to take her in at the orphanage and treat her specially." Please, Boq, please think she's the daughter of some Gilikineese socialite who didn't want a child out of wedlock.

Boq let go of her hand, and backed away slowly, a look akin to terror in his eyes. "Glinda, tell me the truth, the WHOLE truth right now, and please explain it carefully or I swear to Oz I'll announce to this whole crowd that the Wicked Witch of the West, and her daughter are still alive."

Boq began to shake as soon as Glinda implied that it was true. Ellie was the daughter of ELPHABA? The niece of Nessarose. Feeling scared and betrayed he suddenly shouted, pointing to Ellie "That girl is wicked! WICKED! Protect yourselves! Beware! She's not what she seems!" And ran out of the hall. Was that all this was? Was Glinda only being nice to him to get him to keep quiet? He wouldn't have his heart broken again.

She ran after to him, grabbing his shoulder. "Boq please! I didn't say anything! I only said a friend? How could you imply? You may have ruined that girl's life for no reason."

"Miss Glinda, don't patronize me. There's only one "friend" you would ever speak that way of, though why on earth you would have been friends with her in the first place is beyond me. Be honest, isn't that the real reason you've been so nice to me? Because if anyone would find out it would be me. You want to keep me quiet. Well MISS Glinda, it's very cruel of you. Too cruel for words." He turned and started marching back to Gale tower.

"No, please! I'll do whatever you want me to. Please don't leave me." she fell before him on her knees. "I swear to you things were different, and we were in love. Life was easier. We had a daughter! The whole truth is what I told you that day you thought i'd gone mad. I love you, and we were married. We had a beautiful little girl with my hair and your brains. We named her Kay after Kay Tip who now works for Mombie because she's the real Ozma. Mombie is evil and keeping her hostage so no one will know. Ellie is Elphaba's daughter, and neither one of them are wicked! You love me. You love me!" She grasped onto his waist, trying desperately to get him to believe her.

Boq's eyes widened in terror. He shouted: "Mistress Mombie! Mistress Mombie! Kay! Get Kay! Quick! Glinda's gone mad!"
And with that, he dissappeared into the night.

Glinda couldn't believe what she'd done. She screamed, falling to the floor. She started sobbing, wailing. "I've messed up the world. You've done it now, Glinda. You've ruined history."

Glinda gasped, hearing someone. She looked behind her, face red and puffy. "Ellie!" she cried. She's d@mned the girl...for love...hadnt't this happened to her before? Hadn't she learned her lesson? And now she'd lost the second man she'd ever loved...and possibly the future of Oz, as well...

Ellie was shaking. She just looked down at Glinda in shock. "I'll never be good enough for you, will I? You didn't even think about it. You told him...you told him what I've been forced to keep a secret my entire life. I'll never be important enough to you, will I? You couldn't find another way. I'm not your real daughter. I just remind you of what you lost. I'm sorry..." Ellie said calmly, in a quiet, almost sweet tone.
