Glinda, clad in a green maternity gown, bustled around her home, making it suitable to herself for a 'baby.' She had no idea if she had minutes or hours or days or months to prepare, so she was trying to do as much as quickly as possible but kept finding it increasingly difficult. Having never been pregnant before, she'd only witnessed, never experienced the restrictions it placed on one's body. She bent over to pick up a pen that had fallen on the floor and found it nearly impossible. She tried to crouch while doing it and fell in the floor, flat on her bottom.

"Darling! Are you all right?" Boq helped Glinda up. Being tin had it's advantages. He was very strong. "Glinda, we should talk about our future. Where do you want to live? Ellie's been talking to me about becoming a steward of Munchkinland, but you and I still teach at Shiz - you go back and forth from the Uplands to the Emerald City... where should we make our home?"

"We should probably think about that," she laughed, sitting down on the couch. "I kind of thought we'd have more time to think and talk and figure things out. I feel like my head's spinning..." she placed a hand on her stomach. "A week ago I was afraid to be in love...and now i'm trying to figure out where to live before I have a baby that I have no idea when it will arrive..."

"I'm afraid it's all happening so suddenly." Boq bent down beside her. "But we've known each other for a long time. It's not like we're starting completely from scratch. And I love you. Just tell me what you want. You can finally have ANYTHING you want."

"Why don't you tell me what you want?" she took his hands in her own, looking into his eyes. "I've been asked my whole life what I wanted, and I've always gotten whatever it was. Well, most of it...some things no one could do anything about..not the important things...but..." she stopped, sighing. "What i'm trying to say is...what do you want? Because all I want anymore is to be wherever you and our baby are..."
"Oh!" she giggled, taking his hand and placing on her stomach. "she kicked." It suddenly occured to Glinda that she had referred to her unborn baby of unknown gender as 'she.' Maybe it was a premonition...or perhaps wishful thinking. "Do you feel? She's saying hello to her mama and daddy." Glinda was positively beaming, but her demeanor changed quickly. "That's not just kicking..."

"I just want to be happy with you darling. Why don't we stay in the Uplands, somewhere nice near Shiz - it'll be easy for you to get to the Emerald City, and maybe we can "vacation" occasionally in Munchkinland if I'm needed."
Boq looked at Glinda with concern "Are you all right?"

A sharp pain coursed through her. "I think the baby's coming," she winced, holding onto her pained stomach.

"All ready?" Boq rushed to get the midwife - she had been staying with them at the insistance of Elphaba - they didn't know what to expect with this spell.

"This spell is powerful and unpredictable..." she managed, eyes closed as another contraction pushed through her body. The midwife barely reached Glinda before a head of blonde hair began to crown. Within minutes Glinda was holding in her arms, a baby girl: Kay Amalie Upland...newborn heiress of the Upper Uplands..and miracle of her parents. Glinda was in tears looking at her daughter.
"I never thought I'd actually get the chance..." she whispered to her, "I'd almost given up on you my precious little girl, but here you are..."

Boq was stunned. It was happening so fast! But there in front of him was his beautiful baby girl. He started crying - she was the perfect combination of him and Glinda - a dream come true. How was it possible to see his features, his intelligent eyes staring up from Glinda's beautiful face?

Her eyes drifted up from the beautiful baby girl in her arms to him. "I love you so much," she whispered, gently kissing his lips. "thank you for making my life complete."

"I love you too!" He looked back down at the sweet girl in her arms, and did a double take. "Um...Glinda...doesn't she look a bit...well, older than she did a moment ago?"

No longer did she have a newborn in her arms but instead held a one year old little girl. "This spell is scaring me a little now..." Glinda admitted. If it kept going this fast what would she be in a week? Would she be dead? Would it stop at a certain point? She'd been willing to accept the fast pregnancy as a part of the spell, but now she was still aging rapidly. The grimmerie wasn't, of course, always reliable.

"I don't know much about magic" Boq said "but could the fact that the hair from me was technically sixteen or seventeen years old have something to do with it? They had to make a love manifestation spell half from seventeen years ago, half from now."

"It might..." she sighed, the toddler in the lap wriggling out of her arms. "Then again, it might just be the grimmerie being tempremental..." Elphie, if you can hear me, I need you. I need to know what exactly the spell was because strange things are happening.
"I was really looking forward to the whole process," she admitted, sadly. "showing just a little bit...getting to tell people...the whole long drawn out thing...and having a baby baby. Her first smile. The first time she stood up..." Kay had managed to get out of Glinda's lap and was holding onto her dress, bouncing up and down on the couch beside her.
