She clung to Taye, infuriated by the berrier. "What are we going to do? She's out there, and we're in here!" She looked Taye straight in the eyes. She was scared, really scared. She always tried so hard to hide her fear, but this time the fear wasn't for her. She was safe in this glass box now. Ellie was out there with someone who she had always assumed wasn't Wicked until she just made an uncalled for attack on the entire Shiz population. Why? This wasn't the broken person she'd met in her dream...if it had been a dream, which she wasn't sure it was at all. This was someone who was....scared. Elphaba was scared, just like Claire. But what of? She was the one causing terror!

Time seemed to be moving in slow motion for Ellie. As both Taye and Ian rushed up to her and touched the invisible barricade came back into effect and both fell back - unable to get near her. Was it Ellie, or Elphaba that was causing it now? Ellie looked almost like she was under a spell, only staring straight ahead at Elphaba. She heard others calling her name - but as if from far away. This was it. This was the moment.
"Go!" Ellie shouted? It was directed at the students. Did they understand?

"It's not an attack!" She found she couldn't seem to be clear. She meant Elphaba - did the students think she meant the Nome King?

Taye looked at Claire; he could see how afraid she was. He had no idea who this newcomer Munchkin was, and he didn't care. All that mattered was figuring out what was going on.
"No, Ellie! I'm not leaving! Not until you tell me what's going on!" He beat his hands against the barrier in frustration. He hated being powerless. "Elphaba! Don't you dare hurt her!"

Elphaba couldn't believe it. No one was doing anything. Well, they were going to HAVE to make up their mind. Sooner or later.
Elphaba looked all the students in the eye - one at a time. Suddenly she shouted "DO SOMETHING!" She swiftly brought her hands down and there was a sudden, bright light. But more than that - the floor seemed to become opaque - like they were standing on glass. Deep, deep below the floor they could see, for a brief moment hundreds of Knomes digging and drilling. But with the light also came a piercing scream. Time was running out. Elphaba grabbed Ellie and both of them, and the monkeys dissapeared. Elphie had to protect herself and her daughter. She had done the best she could with the rest of the students. At least now, maybe they would understand that she meant them no harm.

Kay was terrified. Students were fleeing the Ozdust... but where were Ellie, Claire, and Taye? She pushed through the throng until she spotted them. They were with the Wicked Witch of the West... they were in danger! Kay began to cry... this was the most terrifying thing ever to happen to her. All of the stories the villagers had told her were true... the Wicked Witch was indeed quite Wicked... and now she was back from the dead! Trembling, she clung to Jack Pumpkinhead in her pocket, totally terrified.

She couldn't believe it! Ellie was gone! This was just like... oh history was repeating itself! Just like Dorothy Gale all those years ago. But who could save her this time? The Witch's powers had grown. The Scarecrow was gone... Polly was in dispair.

Ian quite unsure of what to do, saw Kay clung to a what he considered quite "tacky" doll, alone, in a corner. Ian wondered to himself what is a girl so young, so innocent doing here? He quickly ran to her side, attempting to comfort her by shielding her eyes, getting in her line of sight, so that she couldn't see exactly what was going on.
"Hey there." Ian said in a low tone, attempting to hide the worry in his voice, but he was unsuccessful. "Everythings going to be alright." he said.

Ellie was gone. Claire felt a sudden emptiness and she screamed a high-pitch, shrill scream that penetrated the whole room until the floor cracked. She'd had highly trained powers that had been developed over time, not natural ones like Ellie, but she let them go just like Ellie did from time to time. All the anguish, the fear, the hurt, it all came flooding out in that one scream and then she collapsed in a pink puddle on the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.

A pang shook Taye's chest; Ellie was gone, at the mercy of the Witch of the West. But below, he could see the strange creatures burrowing closer. What on earth were they? All he knew was that they had to leave, now. Somehow he didn't think that Ellie was in danger; but they certainly were.
"Come on," he said gruffly, grabbing the sobbing Claire by the wrist and dragging her towards the exit. He spotted the little girl, Kay, and grabbed her too. Whatever those things were, they were headed this way, and fast. He glanced over his shoulder at the Munchkin boy; he had never seen him before in his life, but that didn't matter. "Stop gawking and hurry up! Do you want those things to kill you?"

She could barely move and was still sobbing, but tried her best to hurry along as Taye nearly drug her arm off. She could see the little things coming up through the crack she'd made in the floor and was now terrified for herself. "What are we gonna do?" She sniffled, now finding the adrenaline to run. "Wait, I could try a transportation spell, but they're tricky and i've never had one work before...but it's worth a shot..."

Polly ran over to them. She pulled Claire up off of the floor. "It's ok, it's ok" she said in her sing song voice. One benifit of Polly - she was always soothing. She clutched Claire to her and pulled her out toward Taye and Ian. "It's the Nome people" she said. "They've been trying to get at the Rainbow jewels for years!" She said. "Go!"

"We have to do something to help all the others!" Polly said. She may not be as deep as Ellie, or even Claire, but she was good to have around in a pinch!

"Nomes?" Taye said questioningly, looking down. He looked over at Claire. "It's worth a shot," he said, nodding. "At least try to get us out of here." After all, she was Mombi's star pupil...
