"The succession was what allowed Nessarose to take away so many rights. It's a wise move."

"I agree. Perhaps, if you wanted, you could still reside there, being more of a local form of government if they wanted your help..but not so much a true ruling body. That's how it is here in the Uplands. Mostly I just do errand running and public appearanaces..."

"perhaps" he said bluntly. "Do, you have any interest in Munckinland Miss GLinda?"

"Not as far as ruling, no. I'm very happy with my homeplace. Munchkinland ran itself just fine without a protectorate or anything. So did Quaddling Country, but when there was an absense of any form of government...I thought it best to put someone there to look over things. Of course, now there's not much need for them. Ozma can take care of things. But if she needed to know something or needed some assistance in a particular region, I think it's good they are there and know the people..." she paused, looking at them both, "of course all the regions have actually taken well to the govenors.."

"I'd never considered it..." but she got what he was asking...if he moved back to Munchkinland would she follow? "But it's a lovely place. I don't see why not, should the reason ever arise.."

Ellie smiled.

Glinda glanced over to Ellie and blushed. This seemed a little backwards. Ellie was supposed to be the one our courting boys, not her. She'd had her day, and she'd lost it. She'd consigned herself to being an old maid...a well dressed and bejeweled old maid, but an old maid nonetheless.
It was about that time that a young girl brought in a tray with tea and cookies on it, setting it down between the three in the center, gently bowing her head and leaving. Glinda gestured with her hand for them to serve themselves. Finishing school had taught her that the hostess always serves herself last.

"Oh, go ahead Glinda, we don't stand on ceremony. Why don't you tell me about when you two went to Shiz."

She fixed herself some tea. "Would you like some dear? I'll fix it for you if you would..."
Glinda looked to her for her response, but sat her own cup and saucer down in her lap, starting to recollect, "It wasn't so different from when you went. I don't really remember where exactly we met, do you Boq? I know it was probably within the first day or two I was at Shiz, because I can't think of a time when I don't remember your being around..."

She poured Ellie some tea and handed it to her. "That's going to bother me. I can't believe I don't remember where we met. Was it...outside in the courtyard? Was that it? Or was it in class?" she pursed her lips, trying to remember.

"It was during orientation. You were upset that Madame Morrible hadn't read your Sorcery entrance essay - and I said 'that's terrible. you should say something.' and you did, and ended up rooming with Elphaba."

"Oh! That's right. Thank you." she laughed. "Well, i'm glad you did. Life wouldn't have turned out the same at all if you hadn't..." she smiled. "Shiz was just...shiz. There wasn't much difference. Plus, I wasn't there an abundant amount of time. Your mother only stayed a semester, and I only stayed a year. Boq did you stay all four years?"

"No, I was there for at least a full year, don't you remember Glinda? - Elphaba waltzed into the room.
