"So..." Glinda continued in her usual hostess-y way. There was this thick, uncomfortable silence that seemed to hang in the air. "Boq, you knew Ellie as a student. She had expressed to Elphaba and I the thought of going back to Shiz, but I felt she might be brighter than some of the teachers there even...you excluded of course." she beamed at him, "But I'm a little biased. What's your opinion?"

"I thought it might be a good idea, especially considering my condition." Ellie looked up, startled. Should she have said that? Did Boq know? Had they decided to make the knowledge public?

"She means her condition of being so young...and in a position of power. Silly thing thinks age matters so much!" Glinda laughed. "She's afraid that they'll think she doesn't have any wisdom or intelligence if she doens't get a degree to back her governess-ship or position as royal historian."

Ellie flashed Glinda a look - "THANK YOU!"
"Yes," she added. "I wasn't raised to be a governer, so I want to make sure that I know as much as possible"

"And I think that's an admirable quality...but I still think you know a thing or two more than at least a teacher or two I had there. But times may have changed..." she looked to Boq, the quiet Boq again, "You know far more than I do about the subject. I really would love your input..."

"Would you be staying in the same major? Sorcery with a minor in Ozian History and Literature, right?"

Was she? The thought hadn't crossed her mind. "You are, aren't you, Ellie? Or do you want to focus more on the history now?"

"I want to make sure I can control my powers. But now that Mombie's not here... who will take over the sorcery department?" Suddenly Ellie pratically dropped her glass. "You two should! Glinda and mother! You should co teach!"

"I'd never thought of it, but..." she looked to Elphaba. "I think it's a great idea. Do you?"

"Oh you have to! Think of it! Then maybe the students will actually learn something - and you can accept the students who really deserve to attend."

"Well if that had been the case, I would have never learned sorcery," she giggled. "But I do understand what you mean...I think it would be a great idea. Closer to friends..." she glanced sideways at Boq, flashing him a smile.

"I'm in. Are you?" she looked to Elphaba who she knew would be hesitant toward the whole thing.

Elphaba uncharacteristically smiled. "I would love to. And I think it's a great idea." - It's time people started getting a different impression of me, she thought. "Who will be the new headmistress though? Will they be all right with it?"

"I'd heard the position had been offered to Dr. Lispin. I'm not sure that he ever accepted or rejected it, but it was offered to him by Ozma..." Glinda shruged. "Perhpas it might be good for someone not in the sorcery department to be head of the school for a change. He can't get greedy and put a spell on everyone," Glinda laughed. Not that she ever thought she or Elphaba would do such, but it had happened in the past.
