"I think that's good. It rules the most powerful of you out. She wouldn't inhabit Ginda or Elphaba because she'd be afraid, and that's a very good thing in my opinion." she looked around for responses from others. "Which I guess brings us back to the young, the weak, the innocent."

"Which is where I'm concerned. Honestly, if she inhabits me or Glinda, she won't really know what to do with our powers. Look at what she did to Boq trying to read from the Grimm...
And I am concerned about Ellie... she might view her as her surrogate."

"It's a viable fear," Glinda agreed. "Ellie favors Nessa so much that...should she lay eyes on her it would almost be like having another version of herself to go around Oz in. Not to mention that she does have control over Munchkinland...Nessa's 'rightful' title, or so she woud view it."

"Not to mention that Ellie's always been a bit of an outcast - because of me. In some ways it was my fault that Nessa was an outcast too - though I know that 's not the truth" Elphie quickly added, thinking of when Glinda had told her her secret 'was the milkflower's fault, not yours." It was the kindest anyone had ever been to her.

"W all have our things we blame ourselves for...it doesn't meant they're true..." she thought back to when they had spoken of Boq's adoration of her...and of Fiyero. Not to mention amost losing Elphie more than once, and Glinda had so wanted Ellie to blossom into a socialite...and had tried so hard. "But all of it adds up to possible disaster..."

"To be honest...and I don't want to scare you Glinda...I don't think Nessa would inhabit you, or Kay...I think she would try to steal Kay and Boq - make her into her own child. Now, ordinarily I wouldn't be concerned - a spell like that is near impossible, I don't even think it can be done. But since Kay was brought about by a spell...well the laws of physics so to speak where she's concerned can be a little...bent..."

"Do you think that's possble, Elphaba?" Az questioned. "I mean, if a spell can't be reversed, and Kay's spell made her Boq and Glinda's child."

"Elphaba's right. I learned from Mombie...when she was trying to...educate me in the magical arts...she didn't do very well...but she did explain that while a spell can't be reversed, it can be...tweaked..."

"Exactly...like Tristan and Gayelette. The spell I cast made them only a few months older and the growth should have stopped there...but with Gayelette's attempt at a spell it tweaked what had been done and grew them years."

"Or like Boq -the first spell shrank his heart, the second made him a tin man who didn't need a heart. Kay was created from a spell that invoked what would have happened had Glinda and Boq had a child. In theory Nessa could go back earlier, and adjust the origins of the spell...
I wonder what Kay would be like if she were Nessa's daughter instead of Glindas..."

"Quite different, I would assume. However, Nessa would have to have a good deal of power to complete such a task. She would need to tap into someone like Glinda or Elphaba...right?" Claire looked from one to the other. Whie Elphaba seemed to be settling into her sister being back, Glinda looked more and more nervous. "Or is it possibe Gayelette has that power within her....only unrefined? Or me? Or Ellie?"

"I keep telling you - Nessa doesn't have ANY power - the only magical thing she did in her life was what she did to Boq - and that's only because she got a hold of the Grimmerie. She couldn't even use that - she read it wrong. I'm more concerned about her getting into ANYONE, and TRYING to cast a spell that goes awry. There's no telling what she could do to Kay if she made a mistake on a spell - it's far more dangerous than if she actually succeeded at whatever she was trying to do. After all, the power is mysterious. Why did my first levitation spell give Chistery wings, but my second one made a broom levitate?"

"That is true. I suppose we can never be sure of what will happen when magic is thrown into the mix." Az added. It seemed that this whole conversation was going in circles. Just when someone had an idea, someone else had a way to contradict it;
