"I'm happy, too, actually. We have started to become....friends." She smiled at Ellie. They felt like friends. She'd never trusted anyone like she trusted her.

Ellie smiled. Thank goodness for Glinda!

It put Glinda's mind at ease to hear the way Claire said it. She could hear herself speaking through this girl. "Friends. Friends are wonderful things to have." She felt the tears welling up in her eyes, but she pushed them down. This room was almost too much.

Claire saw the look on Glinda's face. That need to suppress her feelings. It was what she had done her whole life. She sympathied and realized her idol was truly real. She wasn't just something to be put on a pedestal. It made her love her all the more.
She looked at Ellie, the way she looked at Glinda, as if she were her life and salvation. She wished she'd had a mother like that. Even if they weren't blood. her own blood didn't love her half that much

"Well, it seems that Claire already knows just about everything about you" Said Ellie....

"No. not everything. I've just studied a lot about you. You see, you're my idol. I'd like to follow in your footsteps..."

"Well, i'm glad somebody does. I certainly can't keep up with my own life!" She laughed and tossed her curls a little bit, a habit of sorts she'd started as a teenager and had never quite grown out of it. "I'm not a very secretive person, though. You can't be when you're in the public eye. You know, in the absense of the scarecrow, I am actually taking temporary office again...the two of you should come visit me there. Especially if you wish to be in the public eye yourself, Claire"

"Oh! I'd love to!" Claire sprung up, excitedly, but quickly subsided her excitement and recomposed herself.

Ellie couldn't help thinking of when Glinda and Elphaba had been invited to the Emerald City to meet the Wizard. But this time it was someone good in power doing the inviting. It seemed somewhat manipulative to Ellie though. Although, Glinda was completely honest with her about the need for "bending the truth" sometimes - though it still rubbed Ellie the wrong way. But thats where she was like her mother.
"Claire was asking me about the orphanage. I told her you'd been trying to track down my parents..." hint hint

"Well, I haven't had any success. Sadly, Ellie came to me as a wee baby in the middle of the night. I'm sure there was a good reason that her parents chose to give her up to me. Unfortunately, I've never been able to reconnect her parents and Ellie, but I kind of think of her as my own. In fact, that's why I sent her here. Not many of my children have the chance to come here, but Ellie shows such promise that I think she could be the next "Good witch"." Glinda smile, setting up the perfect alibi for Ellie wasn't easy, but it was fulfilling.

"That's too bad. I know my mother, and sometimes I wish I had the mystery sometimes. My parents don't care that much about me...." she realized she was being TOO honest again. "well, I hope you do find them eventually. But I'm glad you have someone who cares about you as much as Glinda does." Claire had such a sadness inside. She tried not to let it show, but she felt so at home with Ellie...

"Thank you!" Ellie mouthed to Glinda! The next good witch. Yes, that was what she wanted too.
She felt so sad for Claire though. She'd really grown to like her. "Well, just think of Glinda as your honorary aunt then!" Said Ellie. Ellie had always wished for a sister, and besides, there came a time when you just had to try and open up. It could be fun, the three of them. And then, maybe one day she could tell Claire the truth...
Tears were welling up inside Ellie again for some unexplainable reason. The lights went out. Again.
"Oh, no!" She said. "Not again!"

In some sort of reaction unlike anything she'd ever felt before, she felt her own power well up within her. She jumped up and held Ellie tight and the lights returned to normal. She looked Ellie in the eyes, not letting go, surprised at what had actually just happened.

Glinda stood in awe of what she had just seen. Could these two together do more than either could ever seperated? Maybe they could be together what she and Elphie had wanted for themselves.

Ellie looked into Claire's eyes. "How... how did you do that?" She said. When Claire had hugged her she felt... calm. Usually she just felt, well, chaos, especially when her powers went awry. But with Claire, she felt... focused...
