"Everyone calm down!" Skylar shouted in frustration. "Kay, your... mother... can't come to you right now. But, er... maybe she'll be back soon. I don't know. But please, calm down." Nessarose had said she sought Ian's aid, so... was it maybe a good thing? Skylar was so confused by the whole situation. He turned to look at Gayelette, glad that she was back to her usual self for reasons he couldn't explain. "Gayelette... Nessarose said she was trying to get Ian's help to come back to life, so... maybe she's an ally, since Ian's on our side, right? So hopefully soon she'll be back in her own skin, and can stop using yours."
He took a deep breath. "So, with all that in mind... maybe it's in everyone's best interest if we help Nessarose out, right?" He turned to Gayelette for some kind of confirmation. Nessarose was inside her, so she got some kind of say in this. Besides, it wasn't as if he had any idea of what to do. Gayelette was the one who was all buddy-buddy with the Warlock of Oz...

Kay fell back on the ground, exhausted. "Where is this Ian? Tell him we need him NOW!"

"I..uh..I..." she jittered, looking back and forth from Skylar to Kay. "Ian..." she called timidly. "Ian!" a little louder, her body backing up without her really meaning to move. "Ian!" she nearly screamed, grabbing at her hair, trying to rip it out. What was going on? Was she completely losing her mind?

Skylar watched Gayelette, an odd feeling coming over him. It was obvious she was freaking out, and who could blame her? If there really was someone possessing her it was a definite cause for alarm, whether that someone was an ally or not. Ian did need to get there, and fast. What had taken Trism so long to find him? The Nome Kingdom was said to cover the entirety of Oz and beyond, the labyrinthine tunnels expanding for miles like some kind of dark spiderweb. It was entirely possible that Ian was just far away in some other part of his domain. Sklyar sighed. So long as the warlock hurried.
He saw Gayelette grab at her hair as her calls for Ian seemed to take on an edge of urgency, maybe even panic. Skylar shook his head -- they needed to stay calm, especially Gayelette. He gently reached for her hands, trying to bring them down from her hair before she hurt herself. His hands lingered on her skin perhaps a moment longer than necessary; when he finally did pull away, his dark skin was an even darker shade of red.
"It'll be fine," he said in a low voice. "Ian will be able to sort all this out. Until then... you've got your friends, right? We're' here to support you." He smiled awkwardly, gesturing at himself, Kay, and Professor Kates.

Kay, who had been attempting to sit up suddenly became pale, and collapsed on the floor. She was so weak after what had happened to her...

She watched Kay fall to the floor and froze. And in her child-like instinct did the first thing that popped into her mind, sought comfort. She threw herself into Skylar's chest, still sobbing, afraid to look at the girl, afraid she was dead. "I killed her..." she whispered, an immense pain in her voice and a total belief she had without ever looking to see if she was in fact dead. If she looked, it would mean she knew, it would mean it was true. She didn't want to know for sure. Her own suspicions, and the crumpling, now dark haired girl, was enough to convince her. She just wanted someone, anyone, to hold her and tell her it wasn't her fault. She wanted her Daddy's arms around her. She wanted her parents to love her again and tell her everything was alright, but if she couldn't have that, the nearest human being, Skylar, would have to do.

Skylar hesitated, caught by surprise by Gayelette's sudden reaction, then cautiously put his arms around her comfortingly. It surprised him how warm she felt...
"Hey, calm down," he mumbled in an attempt at being soothing. He stared down at the ground at Kay, brow furrowed, then gave a small smile. "She's still breathing, so she's definitely not dead. Probably just exhausted from everything." He had to say, he couldn't blame her. Really, it was a surprise that Gayelette hadn't collapsed as well. She was the one who was possessed. Skylar's fingers absentmindedly trailed over Gayelette's arms, fingertips gently grazing her soft skin, and he barely realized what he was doing. If anything, Gayelette being there comforted him as well, so having her there helped him keep himself under control while madness unfolded around them. Where in Oz was Ian?

Kay let out a soft moan, as a single tear fell down her cheek. And still she didn't move.

Skylar sighed. As much as he was enjoying the moment, they did need to tend to Kay. Dead or not, she could still be hurt. He reluctantly pulled away from Gayelette, then knelt down beside Kay. He tapped her shoulder tentatively.
"Kay? Are you alright?"

But Kay didn't move, or make a sound. The only indication that she was alive was her soft, shallow breath, and the small tear falling down her cheek.

Skylar frowned. Something wasn't right here. He turned to Gayelette.
"She's definitely alive, but I think something might be wrong with her. Maybe Ian will be able to look at her, unless you have any ideas..."

"I could...I don't know..." she leaned down to Kay and touched her, a warm, pink light covering her, hovering there a moment before seemingly sucking itself into Kay's body. She watched it jolt her, moving the body, but she wasn't sure if it was just whatever she'd done or Kay herself. She wasn't even sure she'd done anything that was worth doing. She just squatted there, barely touching the girl, tear stains all down her face. "Kay..."

Kay still wasn't moving - but her breathing was deeper now, more calm, and regular...

"Ok...Ok..." she shook, sitting back, not taking her eyes off her. 'Rest. Yeah. Rest." She could feel the energy draining out of her, and her eyes begin to flutter closed. "I...think I need to rest too..." and she crumpled limply onto the ground.
